Wondering what on earth you will do with those Crocs shoes you have lying around that you or your children have worn out?
by Michele Pearlstein
Crocs has developed a recycling program to help take those old shoes off your hands, while simultaneously helping others around the globe. Amazingly, the company has donated more than 2 million pairs of Crocs around the world, through its SolesUnited program, to countries such as Darfur, Zimbabwe and Haiti.
It’s a very simple concept. The company suggests that you wear your Crocs until the tread is worn out. Then, you can drop off your shoes at a participating retailer.Once Crocs has the old shoes in hand, they will recycle them into a new pair and donate them to people in need.
Collection centers in the Baltimore area include Journeys shoe stores. Visit journeys.com for locations.
