Little Partners, Inc. Fights Childhood Hunger

The statistics for childhood hunger in AMERICA are staggering; 36.2 million Americans - including 12.4 million children - don’t have access to enough healthy food to thrive.  Little Partners, Inc. is throwing out the gauntlet and challenging all of our FACEBOOK Fans to get involved and do our part in combating childhood hunger in America by joining us in Share Our Strengths’ Great American Bake Sale.

Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale helps ensure that low-income children receive nutritious food during critical times when they are out of school and particularly vulnerable to hunger. By increasing access to nutritious meals outside of school hours, we can help end childhood hunger in communities across the country.

Why Should You Hold a Bake Sale?

1. 100% of the funds you raise help feed kids.

2. Funds you raise from your local bake sale stay local, supporting after-school and summer feeding programs in your community —food programs that hundreds and thousands of kids depend on.

3. it’s a fun solution with a large impact.

4. You can host bake sale based on your schedule and in your community. You don't have to train for six months to run a marathon or make a large donation to make a huge difference!

Each participant that signs up under the Little Partner’s organization will receive a Participant Kit from Share Our Strength which includes:  Participant Kit including: Official Bake Sale poster, Participant Brochure with recipes and tips, and valuable coupons from their sponsors and access to your own team Web page.  They will also receive a Participant Kit from Little Partners, Inc. that includes team t-shirts, a banner, and valuable tips on how to promote your bake sale. Also, the first 25 participants will receive a (1) year subscription to either Family Circle or Sandra Lee’s Semi- Homeade magazine!

You can sign up at:  http://gabs.strength.org/site/PageServer?pagename=GABS_homepage.  You must sign up under the Little Partner’s Organization, in order to be included in all of our gifts and give-aways.  Their will be a Grand Prize at the end for the team/ individual that raises the most money.  The Grand prize includes:  a Learning Tower, an Art Easel, a Playhouse Kit, and a signed apron from Food Network’s Ace of Cakes, Duff Goldman.  Their will also be a prize given for the best video blogs submitted of your Bake Sale endeavors.  Submitting a video is not a requirement, but a request.  In your video we would like you to include your team name and the community that you are raising money for.  Please include statistics on Childhood Hunger in your community and why you chose to get involved. Any videos submitted will be edited into Little Partner’s small documentary on childhood hunger in America and posted to various media outlets.  It is our goal to raise awareness to all about what is happening in our own back yards.

There are two ways for people to donate to your bake sale:

  1. By donating a baked good for your bake sale
  2. By logging onto your Bake Sale website and donating monetarily.

The deadline to sign up is July 31, 2009 and the deadline for your bake sale will be Labor Day, September 7, 2009.
