Discover the Nature of Your Universe
From dinosaurs and exotic cultures, to rare diamonds and distant planets, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History provides a fun and exciting environment for adults and children to explore the Earth and beyond. Learn about space and astronomy in the state-of-the-art Shafran Planetarium. Then explore the world of space in Planet e and the fabulous gems and jewels in the Wade Gallery. Se "Lucy," One of the world's oldest skeletons of a human ancestor, along with a 150-million-year-old plant-eating dinosaur, 160-miliion-year-old meat-eating dinosaur and a massive armored fish.
A variety of family activities include animal shows, Shafran Planetarium shows and Smead Discovery Center programs. Other activities include stargazing in the Mueller Observatory, exploring the Perkins Wildlife Center & Woods Garden for live animals and participating in the Museum Store's "Read, Soar and Explore" and Planet Chat programs.
the Museum also offers educational programs and exhipbits combining health and natural history. These explore topics such as nutrition and natural resources, environmental health and epidemiology, genetics and human evolution, and human cultures and social behaviors.
Admission: $9 adults; $7 ages 7-18, college students with ID and seniors; $6 children ages 3-6; children 2 and udner free. Wednesdays, $5 flat rate after 5 p.m. Call for information on exhibitions, group and school rates, special events, parking fees, education services and collections and research.
Hours: Mon.-Sat.: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wed.: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sun: Noon-5 p.m. Closed major holidays.
