Prepared Childbirth Classes: a four week series taught by certified instructors. Includes information on signs of labor, stages of labor, a tour, inductions, anesthesia, cesarean delivery, and Lamaze relaxation and breathing techniques. $125 per couple. This fee includes the Baby Care, Breastfeeding and Anesthesia classes*
One Day Prepared Childbirth Class: This class meets from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and includes the information above. $125 per couple. This fee includes the additional classes*
Birthing Basics: A 2 ½ hour class teaching the basics – signs of labor, anesthesia for childbirth, a tour and more. The $70 fee includes the additional classes*
Multiple Blessings: For those expecting twins or triplets, a special prepared childbirth class covering all the information above and more. Receive a special prenatal book just for parents of multiples. Attend early in your pregnancy. $125. The fee includes the additional classes*
Baby Care: A 2 ½ hour class to make you more comfortable caring for your newborn. This class includes diapering, bathing, recognizing a sick baby, taking a temperature, soothing a crying baby and more. $25
Breastfeeding: A 2 ½ hour class taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, giving information on breastfeeding a new baby. This class covers the importance of the first hours and days, position and latch, signs that the baby is doing well and when to seek help. $25
Happiest Baby on the Block: Learn the 5 S’s given by Harvey Karp, MD in his book, The Happiest Baby on the Block. You will learn how to soothe a fussy baby.
$55 fee includes a CD and DVD.
Pediatric Life Support: Offered at Florida Hospital Orlando, this class teaches adults CPR and other safety measures for infants and children. Certification is provided by the American Heart Association. $40 per person and $70 per couple
Anesthesia: Designed especially for women choosing epidural anesthesia, this 1 ½ hour class is taught by an anesthesiologist only at Orlando and Winter ParkMemorialHospital. $25
Children’s Class: This one hour class is designed for children who are expecting a new brother or sister and is held once a month. A children’s film on pregnancy and birth is shown followed by a demonstration of holding, feeding, and diapering an infant. The children also tour the Baby Place (not labor and delivery). $20 per family
